Has your organization been reimagining the impact it can have in our community?  Have you wondered if you have the resources available to make sustaining change?  The Hive Community Development Corporation (CDC)  is seeking long term community partners to help build a better Lehigh Acres.  

Joining with Artful Gardens’ Learning Center at M & M Farms, The Hive is launching a Community Supported Agriculture Co-Op as a way to provide fresh produce to our neighbors, while supporting local, sustainable farming practices and educating neurodiverse students.  Partnerships begin at $300, which will allow you to:

• Obtain an 8ft x 3ft wooden Box Garden with 44 three (3) gallon pots, allowing you to plant vegetables, herbs, or flowers for your own use or outreach/fellowship programs (pickup and delivery options available)

OR

• Sponsor a Box Garden at M & M Farms to provide learning opportunities for our Autistic and Special Needs Students, with the produce available for pick-up at our local Farmer’s Market

OR

• Sponsor a Box Garden at Artful Gardens to grow fresh produce that is distributed to community members in need

Additionally, your investment helps the farm purchase essential supplies like seeds, soil, compost, pots, lumber, tools and equipment.

Orders will be processed and completed in 2-3 weeks, depending on order quantity.  Garden or flower supplies (without a box garden) are available for $50, and are available sooner.

Fund an Apprentice

We partner with community organizations, learning centers, trade schools, and college students as part of our mission, with a focus on a mentor/apprentice style of skills sharing for real-world, on the job learning. Your donation to Artful Farms supports short-term, contract-based jobs for a mentor and/or an apprentice (ages 16 and up), learning real-world skills in gardening, media design, sales management or non-profit organizational development. 

Volunteer

Our garden is for everyone! If you’d like to volunteer, you can join the HIVE Community Development Corporation in supporting and sponsoring Artful Garden at M&M Farms for a workday, learn more about our organization AND give back to your community all at the same time. Who We Are

The Hive Community Development Corporation is located in Lehigh Acres, Florida.  Our mission is to achieve a healthier, more progressive community that is vibrant and inclusive, that builds the knowledge, dignity and self-worth of all who live and work in unincorporated Lehigh Acres.  

Artful Gardens is a non profit designed for students with Autism and Special Needs. Students will learn a variety of life skills to help them acquire jobs in the community.  We rely on the support of generous donors and volunteers to help fund our learning and education initiatives.

M & M Farms is located on 31 acres of farmland in Buckingham, Florida.  With a mission for sustainable agricultural practices and educational activities, the Farm seeks to be a hub of innovation, learning, and business incubation while serving broader needs within the community.
